The Cafe

The Cafe at Clearwell Caves

A friendly welcome, great coffee and a wide range of high quality speciality teas make the Cafe worthwhile even if not visiting the Caves. They sell a selection of delicious award winning cakes, homemade soups, light meals and snacks. During colder weather, a real log fire makes the cafe very welcoming.

The Cafe walls and ceilings are an Aladdin's Cave of mining artifacts and local memorabilia; the wonderful paintings of local Free Miners are particularly worth seeing. From the Cafe, there is a nice easy walk over Clearwell Meend, taking you up to a picturesque pond and Clearwell iron mine shaft (last used 1995 and still with its headframe); there are far reaching views from here, overlooking Clearwell village and the Welsh borders beyond.

If you have any special requirements, or wish to book a function or birthday party, please speak to Louise the cafe manager; she will be pleased to discuss some of the options and prices with you.
